D.O.M.E. (Daughters of Madre Earth) Team
Lyrica Jensen- Maldonado comes from the Maya Mam people of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. She is constantly trying to figure out life as a mixed race, diaspora member, living through layers of settler- colonialism in the Southwest United States. She attended Northern Arizona University and has bachelors degrees in Political Science and International Affairs. She enjoys writing, cooking, reading, being with cats, and caring for the people she loves. She engages in community organizing work relating to climate justice and migrant justice. She's super excited to continue doing ancestral learning in her future graduate studies and returning to her ancestral lands of Guatemala.
ThatNerdyBoliviane was originally born in New York City and essentially lived there until the age of 17 when they had to move to Toronto for reasons. They are currently struggling to survive in this weird-ass world that does not celebrate awesomeness enough. They self identify as Queer Non-binary, Quechua (Mestize) Bolivian-American and are involved with social justice work of all kinds. Aside from that, they are an avid lover of anime, manga, cartoons, (on rare occasion live-action TV shows if it’s good), and having amazing discussions with other folks about nerdy things.
